Abnormal is normal

So yesterday, I went to get a haircut because honestly, my mirror has been complaining.

While waiting for my turn at the barbershop, MTV was playing some serious throwbacks. I’m talking Bow Wow in his baggy jeans days, Lauryn Hill being ageless, Dr. Dre before “Beats by Dre”, Foxy Brown, Eve, Mary J. Blige singing like she just broke up a few minutes ago, and 50 Cent still getting rich or dying trying.

It was a vibe.

Then 2Pac came on, and everything changed.

Something about hearing that man’s voice stopped me. I found myself asking:
“What exactly did this guy do that makes him still so relevant, even in death?”

As I was pondering, another question hit me:
“Wait o… Tupac died at 25? What kind of flash life is that?”

When did he have time to be a child?
Did he even get to do normal things like failing math, getting scolded by teachers, or eating indomie at midnight?

At that moment, I had a small life crisis.
Because clearly, this guy wasn’t playing.

That’s when I realized, Tupac didn’t live a normal life.
He lived an abnormal one. The kind that disrupts, challenges, and shouts long after you’re gone.

Here’s the bitter truth:
“Living normal is basically existing.”
You sleep, wake, hustle, gist small, maybe post on WhatsApp, repeat the next day… then die. Quietly. Like a phone on 1% with no charger available.

Normal people are easily forgotten.
Abnormal people make history books or at least get quoted on Facebook or X.

So, my dear reader, take it from me,
Don’t aim to be normal.
Be the beautiful wahala.
Be the loud thought in a quiet setting.
Be abnormal, that’s how you live forever.
